Collect Addresses for your Wedding the Easy Way!

Collecting mailing addresses for your nearest and dearest in this primarily digital age can seem to be a rather daunting task but it doesn’t have to be! Whether you’re planning on having your envelopes pre-printed with your guest’s information, using a calligrapher or even just writing them in yourself, organizing your guest’s names and addresses into a well throughout spreadsheet will save you lots of time in the long run.

I’ve gone ahead and created the basic form for you to start, you can find it here.

Step 1 : Open the form, then click on the three vertical dots in the upper right hand corner and select ‘Make A Copy’. You’ll now have your own version of the form to edit. I’d suggest changing the title to ‘Your Names’ Wedding Address List. (i.e. Rebecca & Parker Wedding Address List).

Step 2 : Select the ‘Responses’ tab at the top of the form. It is just to the right of the ‘Questions’ tab. Then click on the symbol for Google sheets, it is a small green box with the white cross through it. This will prompt you to create a new spreadsheet and it will be automatically populated with the completed responses from your guests.

After selecting ‘CREATE’ your new spreadsheet will pop up and should look like this -

Step 3 : Now we just need to send this form out to all your family & friends! In the upper right corner of the form click ‘SEND’, then toggle to the ‘link’ symbol at the top (the middle symbol, right next to the auto-selected email icon). Select the ‘shorten URL’ box and then hit the ‘COPY’ button on the bottom right.

Step 4 : Send this link to your guests, you can text it, email it or even DM it! When they open the link they will be prompted to fill out the form and it will automatically add their information into the associated google sheet you set up. This spreadsheet can be shared with family or friends helping to plan your shower, can be used by you to write thank you notes after the wedding and it’s the perfect format to share with your wedding stationer or calligrapher for envelope addressing!
