Featured Font : Baronessa
I know I've missed a few Font Friday posts in the past weeks, due to both the busy holiday season and a bunch of work-related deadlines - but I'm BACK!
This week I found a delightful font called Baronessa by Juraj Chrastina. I love the name (mostly because I have glamorous idea of what a Baroness is based on Baroness Schräder from the Sound of Music, love that movie). I also have a soft spot for all-caps fonts from years of architectural training.
From the author, "Baronessa is a handmade font with a “once-upon-a-time” world feeling, warm and friendly but not excessively childish. No swashes or ornaments, subtle irregularity and carefully chosen letter shapes make it sweet and funny but not crazy." Not surprisingly, I realized I had also fallen for another font from Juraj Chrastina - Ambassador, previously.
As you may have assumed I have a thing for fonts. They come in all shapes and sizes with elaborate swashes and elegant details. The right font can easily make or break a design. Every Friday, I’ll share some of my favorites and recent purchases here, hoping to inspire a typography addiction in everyone.
