With many families (including my own) choosing to stay in for Halloween this year I thought it would be fun to work up a little game for the kiddos to do with a fun prize at the end! This is a scavenger-hunt-esque symbol deciphering game, did I loose you there? It’s simple, I promise! Instead of hiding clues around the yard or house (which can sometimes be tricky for younger kids to solve), you just have to hide these symbol / letter combo cards for the kids to find. When they see a symbol they find the matching symbol on their game sheet and write the corresponding letter above the symbol. When they find all the letters they’ll have the answers to the riddles!

Directions

1 . Print all three sheets on standard letter (8.5x11) size paper. Pages 2 & 3 will only need to be printed once. Page 1 will need to be printed for each participant, or team.

2. Cut out the symbol letter combo cards following along the grey lines. Hide them throughout your space.

3. Hand out the game sheets and have the kids search for the symbol clues. When they find a clue, write the corresponding letter in the space above the symbol. When they’ve all been found you’ll be able to read the answer to the jokes!
