Recent Work :: Branding for Graham Terhune Photography

I recently helped Graham of Graham Terhune Photography to update his branding, complete with new business cards.  Graham already had a strong design concept that he felt worked well for his business, the bow-tie, how fun!  I was immediately smitten with the Southernness of it all.

This is what we started with :

We went through a few design options and ultimately settled on a minimal design that focused on his name, and a sister design for the business card layout.

He opted for a deliciously thick 220#, 100% Cotton Lettra letterpress business cards.  We kept the design fairly minimal, because trust me – the thickness of the paper really speaks for itself!  Although letterpress is a bit more of an investment than digital printing, the impact is well worth it.  I don’t have the ability (or the patience!) to print letterpress items in house, so I asked one of the talented #fontfriday ladies to print these for me.  Alexandra from the Aerialist Press did an amazing job, and I cannot wait to work with her again in the future.

We also printed the same design digitally, on a 110# cotton paper for ‘everyday cards’.

Thank you Graham, for allowing me to work with you on your new branding, it was a pleasure!

2. Comment on her blog post letting us know HOW you'd use Skunkling.

3. Tweet the following: "Just entered a #fontfriday #giveaway @DesignEditr, hosted by @jasonmarkjones, the creator of #skunkling and the @FontFriday crew"

But WAIT, there's MORE.....

I told you there were free downloads!  Make sure you visit each #FONTFRIDAY blog for a set of free printables!!!

I was channeling the upcoming holiday season when I made mine and decided to make some gift tags!  Simply trim around the dotted lines and punch a hole using a small hole punch at the top.  You can download the high resolution file HERE.

A bit about the font -

Skunkling was originally created by Jason Mark Jones for a Design-Sponge contest.  From the designer : "It was inspired by a real-life encounter between a spraying skunk and a defenseless designer. Skunkling is carefully designed to be playful and even awkward. Unique letter forms and ligatures allow the letters to fit snugly together. The two “weights” can be used individually or they have the unique capability to be overlaid to create a two-color font."

There is both a Inline and Fill version to the font, and together the set will only cost you $19 if you aren't one of the lucky winners!  It can be purchased here.
